Oblivion" by local stalwarts Clambake, which was released June 1.
The CD is rife with two-chord (sometimes three-chord) janglers that
bring to mind the early days of the Kinks, the Stooges or a grimier
version of the Beatles.
Notwithstanding the recent success of bands like Jet or The Hives, the
guys are about 40 years removed from their true calling: opening for
the Beatles or the Rolling Stones in a seedy red-light dive in Hamburg.
